He was the center of legal and controversial issues throughout his life and famous for all of the plastic surgeries he underwent to look “less black” and was likewise criticized for it. Always in the spotlight, Michael Jackson was under such close scrutiny that he virtually could not do anything in public without it being front page news the next day.
Madonna, hailed by many as the Queen of Pop, is another popular singer. She is famous for her controversial music, and controversial lifestyle, for that matter. She left the comfort of the Midwest, where she was born and raised, and headed out to New York with just $35 in her pocket. She spent time working as a waitress at Dunkin’ Donuts while training with different dance groups. Although she initially started out in dance, Madonna quickly transitioned to singing and started her singing career out in New York City in the early 80s. Madonna quickly became famous for her provocatively themed music, performances and videos. A number of her songs have reached number one on the charts and she has won several awards. After immense success in music, Madonna added acting and businesswoman to her resume. Her current worth is estimated to be over $500 million.
