Travel broadens the mind – a good place to start is Munich:

Munich, capital city of the Bavaria federal state of Germany has a population of just under 1.5 million, making it the third largest city in Germany. The wider urban area takes the population up to just under 3 million.

Munich is possibly most famous for its annual Oktoberfest beer festival and it is a city with a wealth of palaces and stunning architecture. Its an extremely cultural city too with museums and galleries to rival any international city. Whilst it was heavily damaged in World War Two, many of its historical buildings have been rebuilt and the city centre has been preserved to appear much as it did in the 19t h Century. [Read more...]
